Most bathrooms that look slightly off do so because of the setting out, not the tiling. Before anything is fixed, Mark works out where the joints fall against the bath, the window, the niche and the door, so you don't end up with a thin sliver of tile at eye level.
Prepared properly
Walls and floors are checked for flat and sound before tiling, and shower areas are waterproofed first. It's the part you never see and the part that decides how long the room lasts.

It depends on the size of the room and how much preparation it needs. A small cloakroom or toilet room can often be finished in a day; a full family bathroom takes longer once the room is stripped and ready. You'll get a clear timescale with your quote.
Can you tile over existing tiles?
Sometimes, if the old tiles are sound and well bonded. In showers and other wet areas it's usually better to strip back so the surface can be checked and waterproofed properly. Mark will tell you which on the quote.
Which tiles are best for a bathroom?
Porcelain is the safe choice for floors and wet areas because it absorbs very little water. Rectified large-format tiles give fewer grout lines and a cleaner look; smaller tiles and mosaics suit shower floors that need to fall to a drain.
